Internship
In order to become an IACSP SEA Intern, you must be:
- Enrolled in a baccalaureate or master’s program relevant to some aspect of terrorism and or national security
- Approved by the IACSP SEA Board of Committee
PURPOSE:
To provide enhanced community engagement on issues relevant to national security and private sector security through subject matter expertise, improved community structure, outreach, liaison and education. Interns can gain valuable experience and contacts through analysis, rich community engagement and grassroots leadership. The NCTN benefits from the Program by scaling in a healthy way to meet real needs of the community and increasing collaboration across organizations.

SCOPE OF WORK:
The NCTN offers to assist interns get introduced to terrorism as well as mentoring future experts in counter terrorism. These programs evolved out of the NCTN initiatives and have replaced the structured internship program offered by many other organizations.
This program is virtual by nature and the Intern will be provided with a letter of appointment similar to a structured internship. The NCTN will endeavour to recommend Interns based on recommendations to employment and that will enhance their professional networks.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF INTERNS
- Prepare one new article to the IACSP SEA Publication site once a month
- Adhere to posting rules set by the IACSP SEA
- Participate at least once as an author or editor in an IACSP SEA eBookproject
- Provide research specific topics agreed by the IACSP SEA
- Attend conference on behalf of the IACSP SEA within home-base or regionally
- Assist in maintaining website article uploads or email blast
ADDITIONAL ROLES & EXPECTATIONS
Interns are expected to commit between 3 to 9 hours a week to various tasks outlined above according to their expertise and availability. The length of the program is up to 3 months but is renewable upon satisfactory work done for the IACSP SEA. The first one and a half months are trial period designed to build trust and determine areas where you are most capable to excel
SUPERVISION AND MENTORSHIPS:
Interns will report directly to the IACSP SEA Regional Director or an assigned Officer of the IACSP SEA office or the Director for Programs unless otherwise directed
ACADEMIC CREDIT:
At this point, this program does not convey any course credit value
COMPENSATION:
The Program is currently unpaid and remuneration is in the form of increased exposure of the participants in the national security community.

- Submit a letter of intent to the IACSP SEA addressed to the IACSP SEA Regional Director

- If approved, you will be invited to join the IACSP SEA to start your involvement and to address any questions you might have.
